About Jaipur :

A visit to Jaipur, the pink city of Rajasthan is a sheer travel delight. The pink hues of the monuments and the local bazaars mesmerize the travelers. Jaipur is one of the most visited travel destination in the world. It is the capital city of the Indian half-desert state Rajasthan. Jaipur is visited as a part of the itinerary of Rajasthan fort and palaces tour and Rajasthan cultural tour. It is also one of the destinations of the most famous tourist circuit in India, Golden Triangle.

  

The main historical monuments located in Jaipur are Amber Fort, Hawa Mahal, Jaigarh Fort, Nahargarh Fort, City palace, Albert hall Museum, etc. The city of Jaipur was founded by the Maharaja Jai Singh II.

The best time period to visit Jaipur is in between the month of October and March.

Travel Attractions at Jaipur:

City Palace: City Palace is indeed one of the major attractions in Jaipur. This palace has been the royal residence in Jaipur since its inauguration. The ground floor of the palace houses the Maharajas Sawai Man Singh II museum which has a collection of manuscripts, Rajasthani miniature paintings, royal costumes, arms, weapons.

Amber Fort: Perched on a hillock Amber Fort is one of the majestic forts in Rajasthan built by Raja Man Singh in the 16th century. Jaipur visit becomes enthusiastic when one head towards the Amber Fort. The architecture of the fort is a unique blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture. The inner side of the palaces of the Amber Fort are more decorative and worth viewing.

Amber Fort visit is incomplete without an elephant ride on decorated elephants.

Hawa Mahal: Hawa Mahal, the Palace of Winds is the most thrilling attractions of the pink city. Raja Sawai Pratap Singh built this palace for the queen’s folk. The colorful jaali hang up at the windows of the palace draws the attention of the travelers at first sight. It is worth mentioning that the women folks peep into the outer world through the large windows of the Hawa Mahal.

Nahargarh Fort: Jai Singh II built the Nahargarh Fort in 1734. The fort overlooks the beauty of the Man Sagar Lake.

Excursions from Jaipur:

Abhaneri: Abhaneri village is located at a distance of 95 kms away from Jaipur city. This village is visited for the step walls and the Harshat Mata temple.

Bagru: Bagru is just 30 kms away from Jaipur and famous for the forts or palaces and wooden prints. Pushkar holy town and the Ajmer Sharif can also be visited while on a tour to Jaipur.

Jaipur is just 255 kilometers from Delhi, the national capital of India. One can take a train or a private taxi to reach Jaipur from Delhi.
